Future fit building design applying circular economy approaches

A free, one-day workshop, run by SEDA  in partnership with Zero Waste Scotland, aimed at businesses and individuals working in the built environment sector, exploring how applying Circular Economy principles to building design will help:

  • Future proof both the industry and our infrastructure, and

  • Create opportunities into the wider agenda of placemaking as a contribution to a Circular Economy.

The Scottish Government is currently writing the Circular Economy Bill and has recently announced a  target of zero carbon by 2045. Together with climate change adaptation, an aging population, material resilience, digital technology, and skill shortages there are many drivers for changing the way we approach designing, procuring and constructing our built environment. We need to start designing a built environment fit for the future, now. Applying Circular Economy principles and adopting One Planet Living is a natural common-sense approach and is good for business.

Join our event to hear from professionals and experts on the subject. Come to be inspired and motivated to take action and be part of the solution to a climate emergency. We will have a great range of speakers covering the following topics:

  • Circular Economy Principles in practice

  • Design for One Planet Living through infrastructure, landscape & cities of small distances

  • Circular economy procurement

  • Long life, loose fit

  • Reducing waste on site

  • Manufacturing cycles

Full details to follow.
