The Big Shed, a new-build community owned building in Highland Perthshire, has an Art Space availablefor hire. The space would generally be suited to Artists working with clean media: Digitalfilm/photography, textiles, weaving, leather-work, jewelry, small scale painting and printing, model-makers, illustrators, poets, writers, collaborators, performance, sound artists. The Big Shed is owned and managed by the Lochtayside Community Interest Company (CiC) andprovides affordable workspaces for community groups, social enterprises and small businesses. The other facilities include a community hall, a fully set-up kitchen, small café/social space and a ‘dirty’workshop. The tenant would be able to use exhibition space by arrangement, and there is access togallery space in a separate building.
The Big Shed is at Tombreck, a friendly and creative farm community sited in 240 acres of hill ground onLoch Tay. Natural resources include: SSSI status flora and fauna, private beach, woods, access to BenLawers, lochs, waterfalls, large open spaces and wilderness. It is 2 hours drive from the main Scottishcities of Glasgow and Edinburgh. Due to the community focus of the building, the Loch Tayside CiC, would especially welcome applications from collaborative ventures, and for projects which could involve the local community in some way, i.e. a workshop or studio visit.
